Luis San Vicente

The works of Mexico City artist Luis San Vicente have been exhibited in Mexico, Venezuela, Europe and the U.S. He studied at the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City. In 1988, he obtained first place for the poster of the International Day of Women. Luis San Vicente has won UNESCO’s prestigious NOMA Encouragement Concours Prize for Illustration. UNESCO honored his work (1997, 1998 and 1999) in their prestigious Youth and Children’s Catalog of Illustrations.

The Festival of Bones / El festival de las calaveras is written and illustrated by Luis San Vicente. It's one of Cinco Puntos' best selling bilingual books. Kids and adults alike love the joyful animated skeletons and the introduction to the Mexican celebration of The Day of the Dead.
