Susie Byrd is serving her second term on the El Paso City Council. Previously she served as a top aide to Mayor Ray Caballero, and she has also worked as Sales Director of Cinco Puntos Press. She co-edited The Late Great Mexican Border, Reports from a Disappearing Line. Most recently, Susie co-authored (with fellow council member Beto O'Rourke) Dealing Death and Drugs: The Big Business of Dope in the U.S. and Mexico, a rational case for ending the prohibition on marijuana in the U.S.
