Diana Cohn is the author of 7 books for children, including three widely acclaimed award winning books—Dream Carver; ¡Si, Se Puede! / Yes, We Can! Janitor Strike in L.A. (a Jane Addams Award Honor Book); and The Bee Tree, (a Skipping Stones Award Winner). Now Crane Boy follows in that tradition. Indeed, her deep interest in social justice and environmental issues on a global scale has pushed her imagination to write books like these. She wants to open doors for children so they can better understand, and be active participants, in their future. When not writing books for children, Diana works for a national grant-making foundation that supports arts education and social justice organizing. She has a BA in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic and a Masters in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She lives in northern California on a houseboat with her husband.
