He has delighted and inspired children for more than 22 years. Q. How do I submit a manuscript to Cinco Puntos Press?
A. Before you submit a manuscript to Cinco Puntos Press, please review our books carefully and see if what you have written fits in with the books that we publish. Then call our acquisitions editor, Lee Byrd, at 915-838-1625 and speak to her directly about your book project BEFORE you send it to us. We do NOT look at partially completed work nor do we consider book ideas. We will only consider a manuscript when it is completely finished. We also are not currently looking at either poetry or children's book manuscripts.
Q. Can I buy your books in my hometown?
A. We distribute our books through Consortium Books Sales and Distribution to bookstores all over the United States and Canada. We recommend that you first look for our books in your city\'s bookstores because we want you to support your local businesses. If you can't find our books there, please ask someone at the book store to order the book(s) you need through Consortium at 1-800-283-3572. Or you can order your books directly through Cinco Puntos online or by calling us at 1-800-566-9072.

Q. What's a bilingual book? How does it look?
A. A bilingual book has two languages within one book cover. Our bilingual books are always in Spanish and English. Each page of our children's books has the text first in English followed by the same text in Spanish.
Q. How do I get to the Cinco Puntos store and office?
A. We're located in downtown El Paso, Texas, just a few blocks from the plaza. 701 Texas Ave. Take I-10 and get off at the downtown exit. Turn onto Kansas Street heading South towards Juarez, Mexico. Take a left on Texas Avenue and we are about two blocks from this intersection on the left side of Texas Ave. The Cinco Puntos building is bright and colorful and on the corner of Texas and Ochoa.

A. Yes! After co-publisher Bobby Byrd started his blog in 2007,, we decided the business should catch up with the times. Visit for more information.

Like independent press publishers everywhere, we get questions all the time about what we do and why we do it, so we decided to start publishing a Cinco Puntos Press Blog which will over time answer many of these questions. The blog will have news about our books and bring our readers general news and comments about the very interesting world of independent publishing. E-Commerce FAQ's
Q. Why do I need to open an account?
A. You can only purchase items from if you have opened an account. This is to keep track of your orders and to ensure that your information is transmitted securely and safely.
Q. What do I do if I forget my password?
A. Login to your account. Click the "forgot your password?" link. You will be prompted to enter your e-mail address. Enter the address you used to open your account. When you click the "send password" button your password will be sent to that e-mail address. It should take about ten minutes for you to receive a message from Cinco Puntos with your password in it.
Q. How do I modify my account information, such as address, phone number, or e-mail address?
A. Login to your account. Click on "update account info." Modify your information and click "Save my account information."
Q. What do you do with the information in my account?
A. We save the information in your account so you do not have to reenter it every time you place an order. The information stays on our secure server, and we never release it without your permission. Click here to view our Privacy Statement.
Q. Do you store my credit card information?
A. We do not store any credit card information. Click here to view our Privacy Statement.
Q. How can I view orders I have placed in the past?
A. Login to your account. Click on "My Order History." You will see a list of order numbers, dates, and shipping status. To view order details, simply click on the order number you want to see.
Q. How do I delete an order that I have already completed?
A. Login to your account. Click on "Order History." You will see a list of order numbers, dates, and shipping status. If the shipping status says "order pending," you can click on the order number you want to delete. Click on "cancel this order" to cancel shipment on the order.
Q. What forms of online payment do you accept?
A. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. We do not accept debit cards.
Q. Can I store multiple shipping addresses?
A. Yes. When purchasing from your shopping cart, you can add as many addresses as you want. You can even give them special names like "Work," or "Mom's House." After you log in to your account, the "Choose Address" screen gives you the option to "Add a New Address." Click that link and you are on your way.
Q. How do I create a Sales Order for my Accounting Office at my institution?
A. This option allows libraries, teachers and institutional buyers to use the shopping cart without requiring a credit card. When you register, select the Sales Order option at the top of the page. This will allow you to print an order request from which your accounting department can create a Purchase Order. Fax them to us at 915-838-1635.
