Cinco Puntos at ALA Annual in D.C. June 21, 2010 Cinco Puntos is exhibiting at the American Library Association's Annual Convention in Washington, D.C. from June 25-28. If you are attending, please stop by the Cinco Puntos booth (#2833) to visit with authors Joe Hayes and Benjamin Alire Sáenz, artist Christopher Cardinale, and to nibble on a cookie from our favorite El Paso bakery, Gussie's Tamales. Signings and Happenings at the Cinco Puntos booth: LA Times Book Prize finalist Benjamin Alire Sáenz signs on Friday from 5:30 to 7 in the afternoon. Bluebonnett Award winning author Joe Hayes signs on Saturday from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. Artist Christopher Cardinale signs Mr. Mendoza's Paintbrush, his stunning graphic novel, written by Luis Alberto Urrea , on Sunday from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. Cookies! Cinco Puntos celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary this year, a milestone we surely never would have seen without the support of many wonderful people along the way. To honor their help, we're passing out delicious Mexican cookies at 4 in the afternoon on Sunday. Author Performances: Benjamin Alire Sáenz reads at Many Voices, One Nation from 7:30 to 10:30 on Friday evening. Free. Location: Renaissance Washington -Congressional Hall A/B.
